Nashville Pro-Am Night 4 Recap

Night four of the 2019 Nashville Pro-Am were full of surprises and big performances in Thursday night action. The third and final game of the night was surely saving its best for last as Car Source overcame an 11-point fourth quarter deficit to defeat Slim and Husky’s 66-63. DJ Thomas would hit the game-winning three-point shot at the buzzer to give Car Source its 2ndwin of the season. Huge game from Rob Marberry as he tallied up a double-double with 23 points and 12 rebounds. “Anytime you can get a rebound and come back up (to score) it’s really easy and efficient. I try to make my job easy as possible making the easy ones.” Marberry said. Car Source’s only lead was after the end of the 1stquarter; a slim 16-15 lead and would eventually would be down 53-44 heading into the 4th, but their offense found a groove outscoring Slim and Husky’s 22-8.

In the second game, Team Cash outlasted Team Pinnacle 79-66 behind another strong double-double from Nickus Doaks (19p, 11r). Doaks was very proud of how his team has come together winning their third game in a row. “Playing defense and finding our balance offensively… once we figured that out the game became easy for us.” Doaks said. Team Cash trailed by three at the half, but a huge 3rdquarter made the difference in the game as Cash would hold Pinnacle to just 10 points.

The first game was nothing like the other two as Asurion would demolish AC Dentistry 82-55. Asurion’s Dontae Jones led all scorers with 36 points (19 in the first half). Asurion would lead wire-to-wire and biggest lead would be as much as 33 points. Asurion and Team Cash both sit at 3-1, Car Source and Slim and Husky’s are at 2-2, and AC Dentistry and Team Pinnacle are at 1-3 after two weeks.
