Nashville Pro-Am Night 6 recap

Nashville Pro-Am Night 6 recap

Win or go home was the name of the game at the 2019 Nashville Pro-Am Thursday night as the playoffs got underway with Car Source taking on AC Dentistry, and Team Pinnacle against the 2018 defending champions Slim and Husky’s. We are now down to four teams: Asurion, Team Cash (who will play on Sunday), Car Source and Slim and Husky’s.

The champs would survive and advance with a thrilling 75-71 overtime victory against Team Pinnacle. Big game from former TSU star Josh Sain who led Slim and Husky’s with 21 points including a huge second half. “I struggled earlier (from the floor) but we never gave up. We got hearts of champions.” Sain said. Both teams struggled from the floor in the first half with Slim and Husky’s holding a 31-22 lead at the half, but Pinnacle’s Emanuel Egbuta and his electric dunking would bring his team back and would tie the game at 46 at the end of three. Pinnacle would eventually grab a 57-50 lead late in the 4thquarter but Sain would lead Slim and Husky’s on an 8-0 run to take the lead. “We needed those buckets right there, it was big.” Sain said. The game would eventually go into overtime were Slim and Husky’s made just enough plays to hold on to the win. Free throws killed Team Pinnacle as they went 20-for-36 at the charity stripe.

In the other playoff game, Car Source dominated AC Dentistry 113-87. The closest AC Dentistry got to a lead was a slim two-point lead in the first, but Car Source would take over the rest of the way. Rob Marberry and Dorian Harris would lead Car Source with 18 points apiece. Marberry notched 11 rebounds as well. Reggie Upshaw also had a double-double as well with 14 points and 10 rebounds.

Car Source would have six players in double figures, including former Belmont star and NBA champion Ian Clark. Carlos Marshall would have a double-double for AC Dentistry (22p, 10r) but could not stop Car Source offensive fire power.
