29 Jul Nashville Pro-Am Night 7 Recap – The Final Four
The top four seeds in the league battled for a spot in the Championship game next Sunday.
Top-seed Asurion would take on the defending champion Slim and Husky’s in an overtime thriller with the champs taking down Asurion 97-93. Jade Patrick had a great game also, Patrick was one rebound away from a triple- double (18p, 9r, 11a). Justin Coleman finished with 14 points and nine rebounds as well. Asurion would have four players in double figures, including Charles Clark with 24 points the team struggled shooting from the three-point line at 28 percent (6-for-21).
Slim and Husky’s guard Myles Thrash had the hot hand for the defending champs as he would finish with 38 points. Thrash was very efficient from the field as well going 11-for-18 (7-for-13 3PT) and 9-for-10 at the free throw line. “It’s win or go home, and we (Slim and Husky’s) didn’t want to go home… with me being the oldest guy I just wanted to set the tone and help the team out.” Thrash said.
In the second semifinal game, 2-seed Team Cash would not be denied against 3-seed Car Source. Cash would go on to the championship game by winning it 117-85. Team Cash would have four players in double figures as well with NBA players John Jenkins and Wade Baldwin IV leading the way with 37 and 22 points respectively.
Car Source would also have four players in double figures including NBA champion Ian Clark with 25, but other players like Jaqwan Raymond, Isaiah Melton, and DJ Thomas would combine for 17 points.
So, the championship game for next Sunday is set. The 2-seed Team Cash will face 4-seed and defending champions Slim and Husky’s for the 2019 Nashville Pro-Am championship.
